This Privacy Policy explains how Vantinent (“Lingom”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our website, mobile applications (iOS and Android), Telegram bot and Mini App, and related services (the “Service”). By using the Service, you agree to this policy and our Terms of Service.

Where this policy applies

This policy applies when you use Lingom through:

  • Website — pages at our domain (for example, sign-in and account management);
  • iOS app — distributed via the Apple App Store;
  • Android app — distributed via Google Play;
  • Telegram — our bot (@lingomBot) and Mini App.

Some features are only available on certain platforms. Third-party platforms (Apple, Google, Telegram) also process data under their own privacy policies when you use their sign-in, billing, or app distribution services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use the Service, we may collect:

  • Account information — display name, email address, profile avatar, country or region (if you provide or we infer it for localization), native language preference, and identifiers from sign-in providers (email magic link, Google, Apple, or Telegram) when you choose those methods.
  • Learning activity — words studied, review progress, collections, streaks, XP, Lings balance, referrals, quiz results, rankings, friends, and similar data needed to run learning and social features.
  • Device and app data — device type, operating system, app version, language, time zone, general country or region, push notification tokens, and diagnostic or crash information.
  • Usage and analytics data — how features are used (for example, sessions, screens, and events such as review completion), often in aggregated or pseudonymous form, to improve the Service.
  • Purchase information — which products or subscriptions you bought and verification tokens from Apple, Google, or Telegram so we can unlock Premium or Lings. We do not receive or store your full payment card number; payment details are handled by the store or platform.
  • Communications — messages you send to us for support and, where you opt in, product update emails.
  • Audio (optional) — if you use pronunciation practice, audio may be processed to evaluate your speech. We use this to provide feedback on that feature.

How we use information

We use information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and personalize the Service across web, mobile, and Telegram;
  • Authenticate you and keep your account secure;
  • Track learning progress, streaks, rewards, Premium access, and social features;
  • Process and validate purchases and subscriptions;
  • Send transactional messages (for example, magic login links or security notices);
  • Send optional product emails if you have agreed to receive them;
  • Deliver push notifications you have enabled;
  • Monitor performance, fix bugs, and prevent abuse or fraud;
  • Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.

Tracking and advertising

We do not sell your personal information and Lingom is not an ad-supported app in the traditional sense (we do not show third-party ad networks in the app).

On iOS, if you allow tracking in the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt, we may use analytics that could be linked to your device for measuring app usage and improving the Service. If you deny tracking, we disable that analytics collection on iOS. You can change your choice later in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on your device.

On Android, web, and Telegram, we may use similar analytics and diagnostics without the iOS ATT framework, as permitted by applicable law and platform policies.

Legal bases (EEA, UK, and similar regions)

Where applicable, we process personal data based on: performance of our contract with you (providing the Service); legitimate interests (security, analytics, product improvement); your consent (optional emails, push notifications, or iOS tracking where required); and legal obligations.

How we share information

We may share data with:

  • Service providers — hosting, email delivery, analytics (such as Firebase), authentication, push notifications, and infrastructure partners that process data on our behalf under appropriate safeguards;
  • Sign-in and platform partners — Apple, Google, or Telegram, according to your chosen login or purchase method and their policies;
  • App stores — Apple and Google when you make in-app purchases (for transaction verification);
  • Other users — limited profile information (for example, display name, avatar, or public progress) when you use social or ranking features;
  • Legal and safety — when required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect rights, safety, and integrity of the Service.

Platform-specific notes

Apple App Store (iOS)

  • Sign in with Apple may share a name and email (or a private relay email) according to your Apple settings.
  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Apple; we receive purchase receipts to verify access.
  • Push notifications use Apple Push Notification service (APNs) with a device token we store to deliver messages you enable.

Google Play (Android)

  • Google Sign-In shares profile information according to your Google account permissions.
  • Subscriptions and in-app purchases are processed by Google Play; we receive purchase tokens to verify access.
  • Push notifications may use Firebase Cloud Messaging with a device token.

Telegram

  • When you use Telegram sign-in or the Mini App, we receive Telegram user identifiers and profile data Telegram provides to authorized apps.
  • Telegram Stars purchases are processed by Telegram; we receive confirmation needed to grant in-app items or Premium.
  • Telegram’s own privacy policy applies to data Telegram collects on its platform.

Web

  • We may use cookies, local storage, or similar technologies for session management and preferences.
  • Some sign-in flows open third-party providers (Google, email link) in the browser.

Data retention

We keep account and learning data while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward, unless a longer retention period is required by law or needed to resolve disputes. You may request deletion of your account as described on our account deletion page.

Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please use a strong, unique password where applicable and keep login links private.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access, correct, or delete personal data we hold about you;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is consent-based (including iOS tracking or marketing emails);
  • Request a portable copy of your data;
  • Opt out of certain analytics where required by law;
  • Lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

Children

The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live (including where our service providers operate). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or by email where appropriate.
